Conferences are designed for men and women in dual recovery from substance addiction and psychiatric illness and for providers and advocates. The goals: for participants to develop the following skills:
Typical Conference Program DAY ONE Morning, after registration, housekeeping etc… 45 minutes - DRA Story and DRA Today - Tim Hamilton 45 minutes - Our Personal Dual Recovery: Common Feelings and Experiences - Tim Hamilton 60 minutes – Holistic Dual Recovery: Inside World/Outside World – Be The Change… – Tim Hamilton Lunch Speaker 30 min. A Word to Professionals: DRA – A Resource for Consumers/Clients – Tim Hamilton Afternoon 60 minutes - DRA Meeting Format / DRA Twelve Steps / DRA Twelve Traditions– Tim Hamilton Participants take part in this discussion 60 minutes – (concurrent)
60 minutes – Forming Resilient DRA Core Groups – Starting and Maintaining DRA Meetings – Tim Hamilton Participants divide into area groups, and discuss plans for starting DRA Core Groups and meetings. 30 minutes - Evaluations and Participant Suggestions – Betty Hamilton
